The Trump administration on Wednesday canceled a comprehensive order to freeze all federal grants and the move was temporarily blocked by a federal judge.
The final in action is believed to have disrupted tens of billions of billions of dollars in healthcare, education, disaster relief, housing assistance and other programs on Tuesday.
The move stopped a wave of confusion and nervousness, and increased the possibility of a constitutional crisis.
On Wednesday, the press secretary of the White House Karolin Lewitt said the instructions from the management and the budget office (OMB) were canceled.
“This is not a defense of federal fining freeze. It is only a defend to OMB memo,” he said on social media.
