Manfred Junkert, who has held the office since 2007, will be retired in 2026. Torben Schütz is already known in the shoe and leather goods industry and is also networked in associations. From 2017 to 2022, the studied political scientist worked as a speaker for statistics, education and digitization of the HDS/L in the main office in Berlin. In the past two years, he supported the companies of the chemical-pharmaceutical industry as a speaker for energy, climate and transformation of the Association of the Chemical Industry EV, Landesverband Nordost (VCI Nordost). Since September 2024 he has headed the areas of energy and environment of the VCI Nordost.
