SADC confirmed ‘commitment’ between M23 Advance – DW – 02/01/2025

Leaders of the South African Development Community (SADC) held crisis talks in Zimbabwe on Friday.

The regional block confirmed its “solidarity and growing commitment to support DRC to protect its freedom, sovereignty, and regional integrity.”

SADC leaders called for an immediate joint summit of SADC and East African Community (EAC), with Rwanda and DRC members.

The summit chose fatal attacks on the SADC mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (SamidRC) regional intervention force.

The SADC Mission began deploying soldiers at DRC in December 2023, which was after Kinsha Saf support under Kinshasa’s Eutter Defense Treaty.
