A Chinese tour operator has opened booking for visitors to a city in North Korea, North Korea, to celebrate the birthday of former leader Kim Jong Il.
The tour will give tourists the first chance to visit North Korea since Kovid epidemic.
Grand ceremony for Kim Jong Il’s birthday
The Beijing-based travel agency tours said that the tourism for February through April will take visitors to a city on the border with China in the Special Economic Zone of North Korea, for “Must-Deew Sites” in Rasan.
The travel agency wrote on its website, “In addition, you will travel to North Korea.
Former North Korean Korean leader Kim Jong-Il’s birthday is a national holiday in North Korea on 16 February. The birthdays of members of the ruling Kim dynasty are specially brought to the country with public functions.
No confirmation of the border opening
However, although the tour is open to booking, it was “not yet confirmed,” Korio said, adding this “waiting for the information from the Chinese authorities at the inauguration of the Chinese side of the border”.
The February tour includes trips to factories, markets, a bank and a school.
Another China -based travel agency, Young Pioneer Tours, i.e. January announced that North Korea was opening tourism in South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, North Korea was opening tourism in Rasan.
The first tour of that China was not announced for the first time
Korio Tours, as well as another Chinese travel operator, back in August 2024 announced that he hoped that the border would open for Chinese tourists by December that year.
However, only Russian tourists have enabled touring North Korea as it closes its boundaries for pre -existence of Kovid -19 in early 2020.
Chinese tourists made the wholesale of visitors to North Korea before the epidemic. It is estimated that Chinese tourists calculated 90 to 95% of foreign tourists in 2019.
