Tesla’s sales fell into Germany last month, official data show, billionaire Elon Musk supported far-flung country.
The German Federal Transport Authority (KBA) said that only 1.277 were new Tesla vehicles Registered in January59.5% below last year.
Tesla Sales Plmet 59.5% in Germany
Tesla was flying high in the German market in 2022 and Musk’s company was the best -selling electric car brand that year.
However, the latest figures paint completely different images. For data, there was a decline of 59.5% compared to 2024, while all brands increased overall sales of battery-operated vehicles up to 53.5%.
Last month, KBA data revealed that a total of 34,498 electric cars were sold.
Like other electric car manufacturers, Tesla has dropped sales in Germany over the last one year after the return of government subsidy, and amidst a small hunger for electric vehicles in Europe.
What has changed?
Musk came out in December in support of Germany (AFD), a distant political party of Germany, in a move that has prevented controversy and anxiety over unfair impact.
The US billionaire has repeatedly voiced his support for AFD leader Ellis Videl, whose party is voting second at the end of this month before Germany’s federal election.
Musk has swipe with President Frank-Walter Steinmier led by Germany. In December, Musk accused the stingier of being a “anti -democratic dictator”. Hey insulted Chancellor Olaf Sholz and predicted in the upcoming election.
Tesla’s CEO behavior is “extremely harmful”, Ferdinand Dudenhfar, director of the Center Automotive Research Institute in Germany, told the AFP news agency.
“Nobody wants to be associated with it … Tesla and Musk are almost unbreakable.”
Musk criticized the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, which was similar to Nazi salute.
