On Friday, officials in the state of New York ordered the closure of all live poultry markets in New York and three suburbs after temporarily detecting several cases of avian flu.
The disease has killed nationwide fields, killing millions of birds and forced the prices of eggs.
For a notice on the state, bird flu was detected in seven markets with last week.
New York Governor Kathy Huhachul said that the 5-day closure will be cleaned and disinfected by the markets in the city as well as Westchester, Safok and NASAU.
Officials found avian flu from 31 January in regular inspection in the markets of Queens, Bronx and Brooklyn.
“I have instructed our state agencies to use all available resources to ensure that we are taking every measures required to keep every measure less for the public,” Hocul said.
