Taiwan has discovered six Chinese balloons from its main island, the National Defense Ministry of Taiwan said on Friday.
The ministry said in a statement that the balloon was seen in 24 hours in 24 hours from Thursday to Friday (2200 UTC, Thursday), as it gave one of its highest daily figures of the balloon.
The graphics published by the ministry on the social media platform X showed that the equipment was detected to fly at an altitude of 16,000 feet to 20,000 feet (4876 m to 6096 meters).
The ministry said a total of nine Chinese military aircraft, six naval ships and two official ships were seen near Taiwan within the same time.
Beijing maintains pressure on Taipei
China claims Taiwan as part of its territory.
In recent years, Beijing has carried forward its military activities around Taiwan -ruled Taiwan, which often deploy fighter jets, drones and warships.
China has persuaded several diplomatic colleagues of Taipei to leave their support for Taiwan on assistance and investment promises.
Taiwan regularly detects Chinese balloons above its water and prepares aerial devices as “gray-zone” harassment, an humanity that falls less than an act of war.
Chinese balloons became a topic of global discussion in 2023 when the United States shot that it is called a “spying balloon”.
Beijing said it was a civil airplane that was closed.
According to independent tally of military data made by news agency AFP, the number of balloons spotted on Friday has been recorded the highest.
In 2024, Taipei reported a record eight Chinese balloons soon after winning the Democratic Progressive Party’s Lai Ching-T in the presidential elections.
China called Lee a “separatist” and has done several major military exercises since the presidency in May.
