Bus-Troke collision-dozens killed in DW-02/09/2025

Dozens of people were killed in southern Mexico after a passenger bus hit a truck, the government of the state said in a statement on Saturday.

Reuters News Agency reported that 41 people killed – 38 passengers, two bus drivers and truck drivers.

The passenger bus was traveling between Mexico’s Caribbean Coast Resort City of Cancon and Sasko when it collided with a cargo truck.

What do you know about the accident?

The collision occurred near Escarsega in the southern state of Campeche, which is about 1,000 kilometers (621 mi) from the city of Mexico to about 1,000 kilometers (621 mi).

“We regret the accident this morning accident,” Jawier May, then the Governor of the Sascate State, posted on X.

“We are coordinating with federal and campeche officials,” said.

According to a post by bus operator Tour Acosta on Facebook, the accident occurred at around 2:45 in the local time period (0845 GMT).

The company said “what happened”, saying what happened to the authorities to determine the cause of the accident.
