Social media Influencer Apoorva Makhija and YouTuber Ashish Chanchalani recorded their statements in front of Mumbai Police on Wednesday in the indecent comment case related to Raina’s ‘India’s Got Latent’ show. Both popular influencers have said in their statement to the police that the show is not scripted. He said that judges and participants in the show are asked to talk openly. He said that India’s Got latent show does not pay any money to the judges. However, he has the freedom to post the content of the show on his social media.
According to ANI report, he said that India’s Got Latent show does not pay the judges. However, he is advised to post the show on his social media. A ticket has to be purchased to participate as an audience in this show. The money that comes from ticket sales is given to the winner of the show.
A statements of four people, including the manager of Makhija and Ranveer Allahabadia, were recorded, but Allahabadia’s statement was not recorded. The Maharashtra Cyber Department on Tuesday lodged an FIR against the show.
After the dispute came to light, a complaint was lodged against Allahabadia and others on Monday by Neelotpal Mrinal Pandey, an officer of Maharashtra BJP’s North Indian Front.
Ranveer Allahabadia, who came on the show, also made some alleged objectionable remarks, causing a big controversy. He later tried to calm the situation by releasing a video apology, where he called his comment “default”, but is refusing to end the issue.
The issue was raised by Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhuske in Parliament, who demanded a law to regulate social media.
