An unknown number of people died at a railway station in India’s capital, New Delhi, as a late Saturn, the mob raced to catch trains to the world’s largest religious congregation, Maha Kumbh Mela.
Officials said that the stampede was fatal, without reducing the number of casualties.
What do we know about the incident?
The incident occurred on two platforms at around 8 am (1430 GMT) as the passenger was waiting for board trains for the festival, a temporary township for the festival.
The French AFP news agency and India’s NDTV reported that 15 people died in a stampede of 15 people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was “distressed” from the stampede.
“I pray that there is a rapid recovery among the injured. The officials are assisting all those who are being affected by this stampede,” they have written on X.
At least 30 people were killed in a stampede during a six -week festival last month after millions of Hindus gathered for millions of Hindus to bathe in the holy river water.
