The US Army said that an al-Qaeda affiliated organization was killed in an accurate air strike in Syria on Sunday.
The US Central Command (CentCom) said it conducted the strike on Saturday “To target and kill an al-Qaeda colleague to a senior finance and logistics officer in the terrorist organization Hurus al-Din in North Western Syria,” one on X According to the statement.
Centcom did not identify its goal.
From the United States and colleagues, “the strike was organized to plan and humiliate the efforts by terrorists to plan, organize and conduct an attack against citizens and military personnel, the statement continued.
On 30 January, St.com killed another senior operative in Hurus al-Din in Muhammad Salah al-Zabir in an air strike.
The US-based site Intelligence Group said Hurus al-Din was established in February 2018.
It did not publicly confirm its loyalty to al-Qaeda until the announcement of its disintegration last month.
The United States nominated Hurras al-Din as a terrorist organization in 2019 and offered a financial award for information about many of its members.
St.com General Michael Eric Kurila said in a statement, “We will continue to chase terrorists to protect our motherland and us, allids and partner personnel.”
