The Uganda army said on Tuesday that its soldiers would be deployed in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to help fight the local militia.
The soldiers will be deployed in the city of Baniya in the eastern part of DRC.

Uganda military spokesperson Felix Kulgi told AFP, “Was being massacred by some militia groups and we agreed to conduct joint operations to save life with our congregational counterparts.”
Uganda already had thousands of soldiers in DRC’s Ituri province, of which Baniya is the capital.
The soldiers of Uganda served as DRC forces against an Islamist group, Allid Democratic Forces, which has been linked to the “Islamic State” group.
Muhuji Kanerugab, head of Uganda’s Armed Forces, on Saturday, gave rebellious groups for ultimatum.
“I am giving exactly 24 hours for all forces in Baniya to surrender my weapons! If they do not, we will consider the theme enemies and attack them,” Kanerugaba posted on platform X.
