A ten -member jury with representatives of the industry, from universities and research institutions, determined the best of around 75 applications. As part of the Eurocis trade fair in Düsseldorf, the winners were chosen on February 18.
The British shoe provider Clarks was honored in the “Checkout & Smart Store” area. The company modernized the cash register systems in over 500 branches. This significantly improved operational efficiency, the jury judges. For example, a new microservices architecture allows the company to divide returns, exchange and inventory management into smaller, more flexible components. This accelerated transaction times and optimize the shopping experience.
In the “Customer Experience” category, the fashion company Gant got the price after it replaced its control boxes in all 650 branches in more than 30 countries with a mobile checkout solution. With this, employees should be able to flee flexibly at the point of sale. The new platform offers digital shelf extension, Click & Collect and a seamless omnichannel integration for a uniform shopping experience.
A total of 16 companies were awarded in six categories, including the topics “Artificial Intelligence”, “Checkout & Smart Store”, “Customer Experience” and “Sustainability”.
