International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim Khan on Tuesday to investigate the ongoing violence in the country. Arrived at Congo, while at the same time a group of pre-African leaders was appointed to an attendant for peace.
The trio included former-Kenai President Uhuru Kenyata, East-Athiopian Prime Minister Helimarium Desalegan and East-Nigerian President Olusagun Obasanjo.
The East African Community (EAC) and South African Development Community (SADC) have been appointed as the “Facilitator” of a new peace process.
The EAC and SADC said in a statement that their goal is “immediate and unconditional ceasefire.”
Many calls for a ceasefire have been unheard of so far as the M23 rebels continue to move forward in the east of the country near the border with Rwanda, fulfilling little resistance from the Kangoli army.
Eastern Dr. Congo status in ‘acute’
The Rwanda-supported M23 has seized two major cities of the region in recent weeks, with the armed group a major foothills since re-lifting arms at the end of 2021.
According to United Nations experts, M23 is supported by around 4,000 Rawandan soldiers.

Britain to prevent Rwanda aid
As a result of the M23 aggressive, the UK government said it was suspending Rwanda the most direct bilateral aid.
A government spokesman said, “There may be security concerns in Rwanda, but it is unacceptable to resolve the thesis military,” a person said, saying that help will be suspended “until significant progress ” yes.
The spokesperson said, “UK asks for hostility, Humanitrian Access, Honor to International Humanitraian law, meaningful engagement with African leadership peace processes and an immediate ending to the return of all the Rwanda defense forces from the Congoles region.”
