Improving terrorist leader Abdullah Oklan on Thursday announced a call to his Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) to call a Congress and dissolve himself.
The message of the PKK leader was expressed after a meeting with senior officials of Türkiye’s Left Pro-Kurd Equality and Democracy Party (DEM).
Why is Ocalan calling Pkk to dissolve?
Oklan has been serving a lifetime imprisonment in a secluded imprisonment in a secluded imprisonment on the island of Imalli near Istanbul since 1999.
Thursday’s statement is Affar Davlet Bahli, who is the head of the distant Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and is an ally of President Recep Taip Erdogan, who has been suggested in October if PKK can reject violence and districts.
Oklan has been visited twice by MPs since December.
Erdogan may require support to remain in power, as the Constitution of Türkiye does not allow him to run to the office again. For a long time the ruler has served as President from 2014 and was Prime Minister from 2003-2014.
What is conflict with PKK?
PKK has dared to have a rebellion in the southeast of Kurdish-Karchavas of Türkiye since 1984. The conflict has killed some 40,000 people.
The previous round of peace talks between Ankara and PKK collapsed in 2015.
PKK is named a terrorist organization by Türkiye, America and European Union.
Hence Turkey has demanded disintegration of Kurdish-Nedic People’s Protection Units (YPG), which has controlled parts of East Syria Syria at the beginning of the country’s civil war in 2011. Ankara consider the group for the offshoot of PKK.
A rebellious aggressive led by the Islamist Hayat Tahrir Ash-Sham (HTS) group overthrew former dictator Bashar Assad. Acting Syrian President and former HTS Commander Ahmed Al-Shra announced the disintegration of armed groups and the formation of a new Syrian army in late January.
