Jean Hackman’s death investigation, wife continues in New Mexico

Authorities have continued their investigation under circumstances to surround the death of the Academy Award winning actor Jean Hackman, 95, and his wife, Betsi Arkawa, 64, a classical pianist. The couple was found dead in their home in the South -Western American state of New Mexico on Wednesday, with one of their dogs.

Investigators have rectified the classification of pamphlets and over-the-counter drugs, in addition to cellphone and records from home medical diagnosis tests from home.

Santa Fe County Sheriff Aden Mendoza said on Friday, “I am confident that there is no foul play.” The Today showHey the dead body exam results “will take us in the right direction” in determining what happened to Hackman and his wife.

Mendoza told The Today show Many doors around the house were unlocked and a door was opened behind the house. Earlier reports stated that the front door was open.

Hackman’s body was found near the back of the house, while his wife’s body was found in a bathroom. The body of the dead dog was found in a dog’s crate, not far from Arkawa’s body. The couple had three German Shepherds. The other two dogs were found to be alive and healthy in the property.

The search warrant affidavit revealed that the police called the Santa Fire Department and the New Mexico Gas Company for the hackman’s residence, but no toxic smoke or dripped pipes were found on the field.
