The Israeli government agreed to adopt a proposal by the Middle East, Steve Witcoff to the messenger of US President Donald Trump, which to expand the temporary ceasefire in Gaza through Ramadan and Jewish Phanah Festival.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced on Sunday, a few hours after the first phase of the ceasefire ended.
The Muslim sacred month of Ramadan began later this week and continues till 30 March. The festival of Jewish festival Passah begins on the evening of 12 April and ends on the evening of 20 April.
Half of the hostage issued in the extended first phase of the ceasefire
Netanyahu’s office said that as per Vitkoff’s proposal, half of the remaining hostages are still held in Gaza, who are both alive and dead, will be released.
The proposal determines that the remaining mortgage will be issued after a permanent ceasefire agrees.
According to the statement of Netanyahu’s office, Witchoff proposed to expand the current ceasefire after a longer time needs to negotiate a permanent ceasefire.
Hamas spokesperson Hazam Kasssem had earlier stated on Saturday that the group had rejected Israel’s “formulation” to extend the first phase of ceasefire in Gaza, although no specific ministry of Vitkoff’s plan was done.
With the conversation, the family of two Palestinian officials told the Reuters News Agency that Israel refused to enter the second phase of the ceasefire agreement or start a conversation about it. However, Hamas dismissed the expansion of the first phase of the ceasefire and insisted on following the agreement, which in the second phase asks for negotiations that would eventually end the fight in Gaza and look at the release of all hostages.
Under the terms of the deal of January ceasefire, the fight should not be resumed, while the interaction is going on on step two. However, Israel’s new statement, says it may return to fight “if it assumes that the dialogue is ineffective.”

In turn, around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners were released detailed in prisoners and Israel. The first phase was to lead to the latter interaction to construct the battle break.
Negotiations are going on about a permanent ceasefire, but not an agreement. Netanyahu’s office said that Israel would immediately talk to the Widcoff’s plan if Hamas agrees to this. Israel and many other countries nominate Hamas as a terrorist organization.
