Japan is fighting a forest fire that damaged dozens of houses and forced hundreds of residents to vacate a northeast coastal city.
According to the fire and disaster management agency, about 2,100 hectares (5.190 acres) of the fire have burnt fire since the fire started on Wednesday.
The agency said that at least 84 houses have been damaged, and more than 1,200 people have been evacuated. The fire has reduced in some areas. More than 2,000 soldiers and firefighters have been deployed from across the country.
A person was found on a road on Thursday, and the authorities are investigating whether the death was associated with the fire, the agency said.
Since 1946, the northeastern region, including Onato, has done its dry winter when the Japan Meteorological Agency began collecting data.
