Vance call for ‘Economic Outdides’ for us in Ukraine
US Vice President JD Vance called Washington and Kiev to sign a rare mineral deal, arguing that it would increase Ukraine’s security.
“If you want the real safety guarantee, if you really want to ensure that Vladimir Putin does not attack Ukraine again, the very good security guarantee is Ukraine to reverse the Economic to the Americans in the future,” in an interview for Fox News Broadcaster.
The Ukrainian delegation left the White House on Friday before the agreement was signed after the US President Donald Trump’s public spat with Ukrainian counterpart Volodimier Zelancesi.
Speaking at the Oval Office on Friday, Zelancesi insisted that American “security guarantee” was necessary for any ceasefire deal with Russia.
In Monday’s interview, Vance argued that the mineral deal showed Ukrainian that the US had “long -term investment” in Ukraine.
“It is a better security guarantee than 20,000 soldiers from some random country, which has not fought in 30 or 40 years,” said Vance.
The UK and France have suggested that they may send contestants as part of an European peace army to maintain a ceasefire in Ukraine. Moscow has rejected the presence of any European peace army in Ukraine.
Vance argued that Zelansky did not show the US to “desire to engage” in talks, but said “the door is open” if the Ukrainian president “is ready to talk about peace.”
“It is important for Zelansky and Putin to come to the conversation table,” he insisted.
He said that European states need to be “realistic” on the possible results of war.
