Chie Mihara honors Balenciaga – Schuhkurier

The exhibition celebrated the 130th anniversary of Balenciaga’s birth and collided with the micam and the Milan fashion week. There were 25 iconic models and rare pieces of Balenciaga, including the “Infanta” dress from 1939 and a cloak from 1962, which was worn by Queen Letizia.

Under the title “Balenciaga – Shoes From Spain Tribute”, a special connection between Balenciaga’s heir and the contemporary Spanish shoe craft was created. A highlight was the exclusive participation of Chie Mihara. She had created a pointed pumping pumps with a golden metal heel in pale pink.

Rosana Perán, President of the Spanish Schuh manufacturer Association FICE, describes the exhibition as “Dialogue between the timeless art of Balenciaga and the manual excellence of our companies.” The exhibition was organized by Javier Echeverría Sola and funded by the Spanish shoe association.
