Vagabond Shoemakers Foundation donates 1.4 million euros

In the first quarter of 2025, 600,000 euros were distributed to organizations, whose goals match the statutes of the foundation. In this first distribution, the focus was on the support of aid organizations that provide health care in endangered areas, as well as organizations that work with other disadvantaged social groups.

The Familjen Nilsson Peterzén Stiftelse – Vagabond Shoemakers Foundation was founded in November 2023 by the founders and owners of the shoe company Vagabond Shoemakers, Mats Nilsson and Marie Nilsson Peterzén. On December 31, 2023, both transferred their entire company, including trademark rights, to the foundation. This new ownership structure ensures that Vagabond Shoemakers’ profits are used to support research, education and help for those.

“We always wanted to use our achievements to support projects that are needed in our time. A foundation offers the opportunity to provide continuous support with effect, ”say Mats Nilsson and Marie Nilsson Peterzén.

The first thing to do is the medical aid organization “Doctors Without Borders” 360,000 euros this year. “Mercy Ships”, a non -governmental organization that offers medical care in disadvantaged areas, receives 90,000 euros. Other organizations that were included in the distribution in this first quarter focus on help for refugees, the support of metanal health, cancer rehabilitation and combating segregation among young people. Smaller, local organizations in Varberg, Sweden – the city on the west coast, in which Mats and Marie live and in which the headquarters of Vagabond Shoemakers are located – will also receive donations.
