The collection symbolically stands for large emotions and special moments that the German football fans have experienced together, and, in addition to a short and long-arm version of an exclusive anniversary junction, also includes shorts, socks and a product range to Culture Wear- according to Adidas on the project.
The design of the jubilee junction is based on the retro jersey of 1974, the year in which the German national team won the home world championship. Both the coloring and the silhouette of the 125-year anniversary junction take up the history of the DFB: the jersey is in classic white and black for the players, the goalkeeper jersey in light blue. The jersey is made of a pinstripe fabric and has a sleeve bundle, a collar with a circular neckline and a flag print on the neck.
Under the title “The Fabric of Legends”, Adidas also developed a campaign film that brings together former and current legends from the 125-year history of the DFB, including Thomas Müller, Florian Wirtz, Manuel Neuer, Jule Brand, Rudi Völler and Nia Künzer.
The jersey is carried against the Italian national team for the first time in the UEFA Nations League. The German national women’s team will appear in the anniversary junior in April as part of the UEFA Nations League.
