Since March 27, the Intersport Höppner business has been supplying the people in Coesfeld with sporting goods again. In the weather, which raged through the Münsterland on July 12, 2024, the business had to be closed due to severe damage, owner Nadine Höppner described when the reopening: “We tried to stop the water masses that flocked through both entrances, but no chance.” In the end, the entire sales area was under water.
Since then, the business has been renovated and should return more beautiful and larger than before. “We are entrepreneurs and always try to make the best of unpredictable situations. That is why we used the difficult situation and further developed the store a bit,” said owner Markus Höppner. The sales area was expanded to around 650 sqm and offers items in the range areas of outdoor, running, training, sports style, team sport and swim. The outdoor area extends over two levels and includes a hiking shoe test track. In the store design, value was placed on bright colors and accented lighting to create a modern atmosphere. Nadine Höppner also invested in modern equipment for the employees: “Our team has supported us a lot in the past few months. We appreciate that. That is why we would like to make our employees happy with a new room specially set up for them. Here they can withdraw during the breaks and come to rest with special relaxed armchairs.”
