This is what German business associations demand from the coalition negotiations

Several German business associations – including the Germany trade association – turned to the coalition negotiators at the federal level with an official statement. This is the speech of grievances in the German economy and the escalation of the situation. “Commercial conflicts escalate, inflation increases, growth is weakening further – the crisis signals are condensed everywhere,” says the explanation. In the meantime, unemployment has arrived at the three million mark. “The facts are undeniable, Germany is in a serious economic crisis.” The associations assume that this crisis is mainly homemade. “Germany not only has a temporary, economic, but in particular structural problems.” For this reason, the paper speaks of several areas in which there must be changes in order to “set the course for more growth and employment for our country.”
On the one hand, the tax burden on companies and companies must be “noticeably reduced”. Here Germany is on top position with around 30% internationally at the amount of the tax burden. The aim must be to lower the load to an internationally competitive level of a maximum of 25%.
Furthermore, the associations are in favor of revising the social security systems. Increasing contributions meant more stress and weakening competitiveness for companies and wage -intensive businesses. And “At the employees, they lead to less net of gross”.
The high energy costs have also become a competitive disadvantage of the German economy. Here the location Germany must again establish internationally competitive energy prices and more security of supply. Energy costs are to be permanently reduced through reforms.
Finally, the position paper also calls for the reduction of bureaucracy for the economy and demands that the problem be given the highest priority. “Report and documentation obligations would have to be systematically dismantled. Time and work-consuming procedures slow” Innovation in the economy “and prevent investments.
“Only economic growth ensures jobs and social cohesion. CDU, CSU and SPD must now opt for effective, structural reforms,” says the explanation of the German business associations. “The location of Germany urgently has to become more attractive again – for investments, for innovations and for all those who take responsibility with entrepreneurial courage. It has to be worthwhile to conduct a company in this country. If the future federal government does not enable this quickly and consistently, the economic downturn will no longer be stopped in the coming years.”
