For Kirsten Graßmay, there was twice the reason for celebrating the comfortable shoe symposium in Zeulenroda. Not only did the passionate shoe dealer celebrate her birthday, but also the fourth generation family company Stüben Fuß & Schuh was awarded the comfort shoe price. Laudator Georg Wessels (Wessel’s shoes, Vreden) praised the company as one of the large inspection providers in the industry. Stüben foot & shoe would have convinced with an extremely fashionable concept itself, said the former award winner.
The company recorded a cut in Corona year 2020. Suddenly dependent on a rethink, the shoe store set in different ways to lure customers into business. The result is various cultural events such as the series of culture in the Schuhrgal, in which artists from the fields of literature, music and theater appear in business. Up to 100 people come to Stüben foot & shoe, who will also be happy to take home one or the other shoe after the event.
Kirsten Graßmay, who has been running the company in the fourth generation since 2020, was pleased with the award: “My mobility helps me to create events like culture in the Schuhrgal. We believe in the stationary retail, but want to make people happy. Our approach to looking outside the box. But you have to make it authentic.”
Stüben foot & shoe was founded in 1895 and is currently celebrating its 130th anniversary. The company currently runs three shops in Neumünster, Bad Bramstedt and Nortorf as well as the children’s shoe department in Stübens Children’s World in Neumünster. Graßmay has already been awarded the AnwR August Blank Prize for the Culture in Schuhrgal 2023.
