The Wiesbaden Market Analyst Ecostra and the French Institute Magdus ask the tenants of European outlet centers annually to determine the most profitable representatives of the continent. A total of 66 (in the previous year: 96) took part in international brand manufacturers in the survey, which in total 1,011 outlet stores (in the previous year: 1,438) operate in European outlet centers.
In recent years, the outlet center in Roermond has always been in first place. Joachim Will: “This has already emerged in recent years, where Serravalle has already established itself in the group of top performers under the factory sales centers. With what has now been achieved, the current result was the previous series winner, the designer Outlet Roermond, located at the Dutch-German border, to second place.” In general, in particular, Southern European centers would develop particularly well, adds Magdus boss Dr. Caroline Lamy adds: “From the top 10 alone, 5 centers have their location in Italy, Spain or Portugal. In addition, these markets are considered largely saturated by an already comparatively high stock of outlet centers, which not least suggests a high level of competitive intensity. Nevertheless, there is currently not a single southern European outlet center in the Tabaty cellar.” As in the previous year, the last place in the table occupies the outlet center in Marl North Rhine-Westphalia.
