America is soon planning to put separate tariffs on things like smartphones, computers and chips. This tariff can be applied in a month or two.

The big statement of US Commerce Secretary Howard Hulkin has come out.
Highlights
- America will impose tariffs on smartphones and computers.
- The semiconductor will also have a different tariff.
- The tariff may be applicable in a month or two.
New Delhi. The US said on Sunday (April 13) that apart from mobile phones, computers and other electronic devices in the coming weeks, semiconductor may be targeted separately. America’s Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik told this in an interview to ABC News. This statement came at a time when President Donald Trump’s tariff has caused a stir worldwide.
Lutnik said, “We should not depend on China for our essential things. Our medicines and semiconductor should be made in America itself.”
Temporary discounts given to electronic things and chips
Last Friday (April 11), the Trump administration gave temporary discounts from tariffs imposed on some electronic things. This brought relief to big tech companies like Apple, because these companies are very dependent on parts and finished products coming from outside. America’s customs and border protection issued a notice to exempt some things from tariffs. Apart from this, those machines were also exempted which are used to make semiconductor. Lutnik made it clear that this exemption is just temporary.
Trump’s stand changing on tariff
Let us know that the changing trend of the trump administration on the reciperook tariff is not a new thing. The US President announced a massive recipe tariff last week. Later, Trump made a big announcement on 9 April and announced to stop the tariff imposed on most countries of the world including India for 90 days. During these 90 days, those countries will have a recipe of 10 percent.
