Markus Rieker had determined the course of the Rieker Group for decades with an entrepreneurial sense, clear values and personal integrity. So the company announced it in an obituary. “His strategic foresight, its proximity to the market and its deep understanding of quality and brand management have made a significant contribution to the successful positioning of our house in the international shoe industry.”
Under Markus Rieker’s management, the company developed into a globally recognized family business – “with strong identity, lived corporate culture and a partnership orientation across all markets”.
The funeral took place on April 16 in the closest family and friends. In accordance with the special corporate culture, long -standing active and former employees from all over the world also took part – “a moving sign of deep connection that Mr. Rieker created over generations,” says the company.
According to the company, Markus Rieker’s daughter and the entire family are still firmly behind the path taken.
The operational management has been with CEO Markus Rapp for several years, who, in close coordination with the family, will continue to the group in the sense of Markus Rieker.
