Stefanie Steinert wants to define barefoot shoes

Why is an industry -wide standard needed?

It would be a shame if the step into the mainstream would lead to increasingly watering down the topic. I don’t want just “barefoot” to be on the shoes. My expectation is that you then fully meet all important criteria. As a dealer, we have to be able to trust that we get full -fledged barefoot shoes when we order them. Actually, there should have been such a standard for a few years so that the manufacturers could orient themselves on it from the start. So we do the same learning curve with every new brand. There are many ambiguities from the manufacturer to the dealer to consumers. It is difficult for the customer to make an informed decision. Many participants are new to the topic and have to deal with the details where you could take a lot of preparatory work. And even if the manufacturer may order the perfect barefoot shoe, the shoe can be different from production decisions in the factory without clear information than actually desired.
