Schuh Haaser now operates at two locations. Other is already planned, the young managing director reveals – only where does it remain a secret for the time being. “We are planning the further expansion because our business model, to which we have worked a lot, works very well.” This consists of approximately equal parts of shoe trade and orthopedic shoe operation. The latter has only come to business in the past six years, but forms the most important drive of the expansion.
Six years ago, Clemens Haaser took over the company from his father and thus forms the fourth generation – together with his brother, who has also been working there recently. However, the path of Clemens Haaser was anything but usual:
After graduating from high school, he wanted to work in reinforced concrete construction and went to teach. After a few years and tedious work in snow and rain, he finally joined the father’s trading company, who worked alone at the time. Finally, the training as a measurement maker followed, which Haaser “as Saxony’s best and among the top three in Germany”. After a stopover near Werdich in the Breuningerland in Stuttgart, he returned home and met an orthopedic shoe maker who needed help – which made Haaser not only getting to know a new professional area in the industry, but also completed the master craftsman exam – also with a sponsorship prize.
