Kashmir pahalgam terror attack: Attempts to infiltrate the Line of Control (LOC) on Wednesday (April 23) in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir were thwarted. Indian Army officials said that there was heavy firing between security forces and militants in the ongoing operation in Baramulla. During this time two terrorists were killed. The attempt to infiltrate was thwarted by the security forces. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and war goods have been recovered from the terrorists. At present, search operation is going on in the area.
IED, 2 AK rifles and pistols have been recovered from the terrorists. The Chinar Corps said in a post on X that on 23 April 2025, two-three militants tried to infiltrate through the Sirjivan of Uri Nalla in Baramulla. The army said that vigilant soldiers on the Line of Control warned and stopped the intruders and resulted in firing.
The army said the search operation is going on at the moment. “Two terrorists have been killed in an anti -infiltration campaign in Uri sector,” officials said. This infiltration attempt has been made in less than 24 hours of the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Anantnag district of South Kashmir on Tuesday. At least 26 people have been killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, mostly tourists.
The Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Srinagar on Tuesday evening to take stock of the security situation in Kashmir after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Nalin Prabhat, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police, informed him on the arrival of the Home Minister.
