The information obtained during the supplier appointments is important in order to give the SABU members the necessary security at the order. This happens in various ways. On the one hand, the team around Schneider and Meyer organizes an extensive modern report including keylooks, collections and a short shoulder view of the departures per season. All color and fashion trends along with numerous shoes are presented. On the other hand, there is always the popular fashion show for the Sabu trade fair in Heilbronn, for which the corresponding looks are put together.
In order for everyone to feel picked up, there is also individual advice and data -based recommendations from the SABU Category Management. Schneider and Meyer is very important to the permanent exchange with the dealers. “It not only learns the dealers from us, but we also learn in every conversation that we lead with dealers,” says Bernd Schneider. It is not uncommon for valuable tips from dealers with regard to new brands or trends. In order to be able to step into the exchange again and again, the two trading specialists visit numerous trade fairs in each order round and are also on site at dealers. “That is why we visit as many events as possible and take personal exchange very importantly. And it is not uncommon for us to sit down in their business with dealers and buyers and three hours in their shops and talk about current challenges and solutions.” It is more about fashion. A topic that is discussed again and again are the prices.
“It is important that the prices for shoes are increasing, if only because of the high costs that dealers are currently struggling with. However, it is not useful if suppliers simply make their shoes more expensive. The price/performance ratio must also be correct. A real product value or innovation creates desirability-this would also be used to trade,” says Marc Meyer. “The calculation must fit! To our concrete offers that cover important product groups with great conditions, our sneaker deals count. These were very well received in the F/S 2025!” Added Bernd Schneider.
