Washington/Kyiv: Russia and Ukraine have been warning over three years. Meanwhile, on Thursday, Russia launched a major attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones. After this attack, US President Donald Trump appealed to Russian President Putin to stop the attack on Kiev. On Thursday, Russia carried out one of the most deadly attacks ever on Kiev. After this, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “I am not happy with Russia’s attacks on Kiev. It was not necessary and its time was too bad. Vladimir, wait! Wait! 5000 soldiers are dying every week. Let’s make a peace compromise!” Trump also claimed that Russia’s ‘entire Ukraine Na Capture’ is a ‘big concession’ from Russia.
In Russia’s attack, 12 people were killed and 90 injured in Kiev, causing the war deeper. In the early hours of Thursday, Russia attacked Kiev with 70 missiles and 145 drones, which was the deadliest attack after July 2024. According to Ukraine’s emergency services, damage occurred at 13 places, including residential buildings and civil structures. People are trapped in the debris of a house in SwIEATOSIN district, and rescue work is going on. Kiev’s Mayor Vitsko Clitsko said, “We are removing the debris by hand, because people can be below.”
Peace proposal shocks Ukraine
The Trump administration introduced a peace proposal in Paris, asking Ukraine to make a big sacrifice. It states that Crimea will be considered part of Russia and Ukraine will have to hand over large areas to Russia. Vice President JD Vance said, “The boundaries should be freezed in the current position.” Trump said on Thursday that Russia’s ‘Stopping War’ and ‘Full Ukraine’ is a big agreement. But Jailonsky turned it down, as it is against the Constitution of Ukraine.
Concern of Europe and Asia
America’s allies are worried about Trump’s proposal. According to CNN report, an European diplomat said, “If Ukraine is forced to leave its land, no country in Europe or the world will be safe, whether it is in NATO or not.” He called it a violation of the principles of international law. Asian ally, especially concerned about China. One Asian diplomat said, ‘China is watching. If Russia received the award for its violence, it will be a dangerous message. European officials will not accept this proposal, which may make America isolated. French President Emmanuel Macron condemned Russia’s attacks and said, ‘Putin is lying. He talks about peace, but bombs.
