Arcteryx founds new Footwear unit – Schuhkurier

After a successful Footwear collection in spring 2025, Arcteryx wants to continue to grow in the shoe area. For this purpose, the Canadian manufacturer for outdoor equipment is founding a new unit that is supposed to be responsible for growth. The new footwear business unit is headed by Renée Augustine, who was thus named the first genetic manager Footwear. Previously, Augustine worked as a Vice President of Strategy & Enterprise PMO at ArcteryX. She also gained experience in various leadership roles at companies such as Under Armor and Nike.

“This is a crucial moment, not only for Arcteryx, but for the future of mountain shoes,” says Renée Augustine. “We have proven that there is a real demand for Arcteryx in this area. Starting your own footwear business unit is proof of our belief in what is possible and I feel honored to be part of it.”

The previous person responsible for the Footwear division Ovi Garcia has meanwhile been appointed Vice President of Footwear Product. In the future, Garcia will head the Footwear Product Center of Excellence. “The establishment of its own footwear business unit is an important milestone on our way to establishing Arcteryx as the world’s leading provider of mountain shoes,” says Stuart Haselden, Chief Executive Officer at Arcteryx. “The extraordinary work of Ovidio Garcia and his team, who have managed these efforts, created an enormous dynamic with our new introductions in spring 2025, including Norvan LD 4 and the Vertex Speed, and we are excited to see what this means for the future of the company.”
