Markets: Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) invested more than Rs 38,000 crore in the Indian equity market in the second fortnight of April, with financial services to more than 60 per cent. This sector earned a foreign investment of Rs 22,910 crore. Financial sector has emerged as the most preferred option for investment.
Capital Goods was the second most favorite sector, with an investment of Rs 2,944 crore after selling Rs 3,019 crore in the first 15 days of the month. Telecommunication was third, with an investment of over Rs 2,500 crore in the second fortnight of April. Whereas the first fortnight of April had an investment of Rs 2,137 crore.
Similarly, in the second fortnight of April, the FIS invested Rs 2,401 crore in oil and gas stocks, while FMCG stocks made an investment of Rs 2,330 crore.
Apart from this, Fiis also invested in consumer, chemical, services and consumer durables shares. The consumer and chemical sector invested Rs 1,983 crore and Rs 1,184 crore. While services and consumer durables invested Rs 983 crore and Rs 965 crore.
Second Taf FII continued selling in IT, auto, metal and mining, construction and real estate sectors. The IT sector is facing constant pressure. After a huge selling of Rs 13,828 crore in the first fortnight in the IT sector, there was a withdrawal of Rs 1,385 crore in the second fortnight.
In the second fortnight of April, auto stocks saw a selling of Rs 645 crore. While the metal and mining sector saw a withdrawal of Rs 645 crore and Rs 574 crore. Construction and real estate sectors saw a selling of Rs 425 crore and Rs 353 crore.
