New Delhi. The tariff announcement of US President Donald Trump has created chaos in many countries around the world. Trump announced 54 percent of tariffs on China earlier this week, including already applicable duty. Now China has retaliated on the US and has adopted a tit strategy. China, taking retaliation, has announced to impose 34 percent extra tariffs on American things. The new rates will come into effect from April 10.
China announced on 4 April that it would increase 34 per cent extra tariff on all American goods from April 10. Chinese officials said that they would start checking the medical CT X-ray tubes imported from the US and India and prevent imports of poultry products from 2 American companies.
China gives a befitting reply to America
Apart from this, the Commerce Ministry of China has put 11 American companies in the list of ‘non -prone entities’, which will prevent them from doing business in China or with Chinese companies. The Ministry has also indicated strictness on the export of some rare economy elements (such as gedolinium and yatrium). These are specially mined in China and are used from electric cars to smart bombs.
Canada will impose 25% tariff on vehicles coming from America
Earlier, Canada retaliated against Trump’s tariff and announced 25 percent tariff on some vehicles imported from the US. In a press briefing in Canadian capital Ottawa, Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that 25 % tariffs would be imposed on all vehicles imported from the US, which do not follow CUSMA. Brazil will take ‘all appropriate measures’ against US tariff
