Operation Sindoor: India’s attack on Pakistan and America.

Operation Sindoor, i.e. on 7 May 2025, India’s attack on terrorist bases in Pakistan and POK. This attack caught the attention of the whole world. India killed more than 100 terrorists, targeting big names like Masood Azhar’s brother. But when it comes to ceasefire, the question arises after seeing the attitude of America. Why does it stand with Pakistan? Is Donald Trump on the way to spoil the relationship with India?

The friendship between America and Pakistan is old, since the time of the Cold War. At that time Pakistan was in the US camp, and India’s non -aligned policy was considered by the US towards the Soviet Union. India used to get weapons and support from Soviet, due to which America used to look at us with suspicion. In the Indo-Pak war of 1971, the US sent a seventh fleet and supported Pakistan. And in 2011, when Osama bin Laden was caught in Pakistan, the US did not tighten Pakistan. If Osama had been found in another country, then that country would have been imposed economic sanctions. But Pakistan was spared, as it is necessary for America in the case of China along with Afghanistan and Taliban.

After Operation Sindoor, America said that it is against terrorism and Pakistan should end the terrorist hideout. But did not openly support this surgical strike of India. Why so? Because America wants to make balance in South Asia. America is afraid if it supports India fully, then Pakistan will go directly to China’s lap. And Pakistan’s location, its nuclear strength and friendship with China do not let America leave it.

Donald Trump has given India the first relief in some cases. For example, India was exempted from CAATSA sanctions on the S-400 missile deal, while his friend did not spare Turkey. It shows that Trump considers India to be important. But as soon as the issue of Pakistan comes, they retreat a bit. This is because Pakistan is the old partner of America. In Operation Sindoor, America did not fully support India. So is Trump spoiling the relationship with India? I think they are not doing this intentionally. His policy is to make a balance in view of American interests.

What is the benefit of America by living with India?

India is a big partner for America today, especially against China. India’s democracy, increasing strength and army make it important in Indo-Pacific. America came openly with India in the 2020 Galwan clash. Agreements like Quad and ICET further strengthen India-US friendship. Living with India not only helps America to compete with China, but also benefits in trade and technology.

Together on China, why separate on Pakistan?

America is against China with India, because China is its big enemy. India’s strength and stress from China make him a friend of America. But in the case of Pakistan, America runs carefully. If he leaves Pakistan, he will go completely with China. In South Asia, America has no other ‘loyal’ friends like Pakistan, who danced at its behest in lieu of money. India cannot replace Pakistan even after wishing, because it will have to be compromised with self -esteem. However, I miss the said of American economist Jeffrey D. Sachs, in which he said that America is behind China today because it is going ahead of it. If India became a big force tomorrow, then perhaps America also fell behind India. India may not be as big as America, but it talks with eyes in the eye. Our independent policy separates us from countries like Pakistan, which does anything for money.

Operation Sindoor showed that India can fight alone against terrorism. But America’s attitude shows that it keeps his interests first. Trump probably does not want to spoil the relationship with India, but his softness towards Pakistan forces India to be vigilant. India will have to increase its strength and Pakistan will have to surround the global stage. There is a need to make India more friends in the world.
