The Indigo flight going from Delhi to Srinagar became a victim of bad weather on Wednesday, 21 May. There was a disturbance in the plane, after which the pilot reported the “Emergency” to Air Traffic Control in Srinagar. More than 225 people were aboard this plane. The situation born caused panic inside the plane. Officials of the news agency PTI said that the plane later landed safely.
An official of the Airport Authority of India says, “Indigo flight 6E2142 going from Delhi to Srinagar faced bad weather (hailstorm), the pilot reported the Emergency to ATC SXR (Srinagar).”
All aircrafts and 227 passengers safe
The official has said that the flight was safely landed in Srinagar at 6.30 pm. According to the official, “All aircrafts and 227 passengers are safe and the airline has declared the plane as AOG. AOG i.e. aircraft on ground means that the plane is grounded due to technical problems and is not in flying.
IndiGo issued a statement on the situation saying, “Flight 6E 2142 going from Delhi to Srinagar suffered a sudden hailstorm on the way. The flight and cabin crew followed the protocol and the plane was safely launched in Srinagar. After the plane landed the plane, the airport team attacked the passengers and the priority and resting of the pasans were attached to the plane. The plane will be released. “
IndiGo had earlier issued a travel advisory for Goa. It has been warned that flight operations may be affected due to the ongoing rains in the state.
