US President Donald Trump has once again reacted a strong and good response to the manufacturing of iPhone in India. He again targeted the iPhone maker Apple and said that the manufacturing of iPhone sold in America should be in America, not in India or any other country. Trump said that he had already told Apple CEO Tim Cook directly and warned that if Apple fails to follow it, then the company should be imposed at least 25% tariff.
Trump has posted a post on Truth social about this. He wrote, “I told Apple’s Tim Cook long ago that I hope that the manufacturing of his iPhone sold in the United States will be done in the United States, not in India or elsewhere. If not, if it is not, then Apple will have to pay at least 25% tariff to America. Thank you for paying attention to this matter!”
Trump does not want to sell Made in India iPhone in America
Earlier, Trump had recently asked Tim Cook to stop production in India to be sold in America at the trade round table conference in Doha, the capital of Qatar and to create an iPhone in the US instead. Apple does not produce smartphones in America right now. Most of its iPhone are made in China. India produces about 4 crore units annually, which is about 15 percent of Apple’s annual production. According to news agency PTI,
The US President had said, ‘I don’t want you to manufacture in India. If you want to take care of India, then you can manufacture in India. Trump suggested that Apple may make its products in India for the Indian market. But the ‘Made in India’ iPhone being sold in America will have to be stopped.
