Bullet Train in India: India is going to join selected countries in the world soon, where high speed rail means bullet train runs. At the same time, a big update has surfaced about the bullet train. According to which bullet train will run in Gujarat by 2028. According to the exclusive document received by CNN-NEWS18, the bullet train can run between Sabarmati and Vapi in Gujarat by 2028. After this, by 2030, this train will run on the 508 km long entire section between Ahmedabad to Mumbai.
This survey being conducted
The National High Speed Rail Authority (NHSRCL) is conducting a ridership survey to estimate the fare and traffic for this bullet train. According to an exclusive information received by CNN-News 18, the phase from Sabarmati to Vapi in Gujarat under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project can start by 2028. After this, there is a plan to start the 508 km long route from Ahmedabad to Mumbai by the year 2030.
The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has planned to conduct a ridership survey to assess the fare and passenger number of the project. The information will be assessed for 2028 for 2028 and the entire route for the Sabarmati-Wapy Section and 2030 will be assessed. Also, a detailed analysis of the ridership has also been asked to form for the coming 30 years.
Bullet train will pass through these areas
The high speed rail corridor will reach Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Thane, Virar and Boisar in Mumbai, Maharashtra, will reach Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad and finally Sabarmati in Gujarat. The entire project will be a total of 508 km long. This bullet train project will give a new direction to the high speed rail journey in India and will reduce the journey time between Mumbai-Ahmedabad significantly.
Work going on at a slow pace in Maharashtra
According to the CNN-News 18 report, the bullet train can first start in Gujarat as its construction work is moving fast there. On the other hand, the progress of the project in Maharashtra has been relatively slow, as no concrete action could be taken for about three years during the tenure of Maha Vikas Aghadi government. However, no official date has been announced by the central government regarding the introduction of bullet train so far.
This project will include India in the list of few countries where high-speed rail services are present. At present, there are about 15 such countries worldwide. Bullet train will not only be a major achievement from technical terms, but it will also give the country many benefits from economic, social and environmental point of view.
Construction of 300 km wire
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently said that the construction work of 300 km long wire in Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project has been completed. The only underground station of this corridor is being built at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai, where about 76% excavation has been completed so far. According to government data, the work of casting of about 383 km of pear, 401 km foundation and 326 km long girder on this high speed rail route has been completed so far. The main reason behind the slow pace of the project in Maharashtra was the problems of land acquisition, which came up as a major obstacle in the tenure of the previous state government. However, now the work is being accelerated and progress is continuously.
What will be available from a ridership survey?
The objective of the Ridership Survey conducted by the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is to analyze the current traffic system of that area and the habits of the passengers. Through this, it will be assessed how much journey can be sought on the corridor. This survey will also include how much the fare will be so that maximum revenue can be obtained. Also, their profile will be prepared based on standards such as passenger number, annual potential earnings, age, income, profession and purpose of travel at the station at the station. This information will help in improving future plans and services.
