Washington: Billionaire and Technology Tycoon Alan Musk has decided to leave the DOGE department of US President Donald Trump Administration. This department was Trump’s ‘Cost Cutting Task Force’, from which Musk announced to end his ties. Musk gave this information through a post on his social media platform X on Wednesday night.
His farewell was announced on Wednesday evening. His exit of the trump administration is the end of an upheaval chapter that included thousands of sorting, eliminating government agencies and many lawsuits. Despite the turmoil, Musk continued to struggle in this atmosphere. He achieved very little target from his expectations. He dramatically reduced his target of cutting spending. The first cut was $ 2 trillion, which was reduced to $ 1 trillion and then to $ 150 billion. He expressed disappointment about resistance to his goals.
Not made in Musk-Trump!
Alan Musk was appointed as ‘Special Government Employees’ in this department, allowing him to provide federal service for 130 days a year. With Trump’s oath on January 20, Musk’s government service also started and now that border is being completed in late May. There is an important reason behind this decision of Musk. President Trump’s much talked about and surrounded in controversies. In this budget, a major increase in tax exemption of multi-trilian dollars and defense expenses has been proposed, which was publicly unhappy by Musk. He said in an interview to CBS that this bill will increase the country’s federal deficit and weaken the efforts of ‘savings and skills’ of DOGE.
‘Doge should now become a thinking’
In his farewell message, Musk wrote, ‘My special government is ending service as an employee. I thank President Donald Trump that he gave me a chance to reduce unnecessarily expenses. The mission of DOGE will be stronger over time, when it will become part of the working style of the government.
Effect on Tesla, distance from politics
This government role of Musk brought him to Trump’s close advisors, but he paid it to his main business Tesla. The company’s profits have declined and recently Musk warned investors that the political atmosphere can also affect the demand for electric cars. Last month, in an investor call, Musk said that now he will ‘reduce the time’ and give more attention to Tesla.
