More than 17,000 people were being diverted on Wednesday in Canada’s Manitoba province as the forest fire was extinguished.
Manitoba’s premiere Wab Kinave said at a news conference, “The Manitoba government has declared a province-wide state of emergency due to the situation of forest fire.”
“This is the biggest withdrawal, Manitoba must have seen in the living memory of most people,” said.
Requested military assistance
Kinu said that he had asked Prime Minister Mark Karney to deploy the army for assistance with fire -fighting efforts to remove the withdrawal process and fire.
For Kinu, the military aircraft will be deployed “adjacent” to help the residents vacate in the northern communities of the endangered distance.
