Disaster management officials said on Saturday that pestle monsoon rains killed at least five people in the northeastern state of India, as pesture rains triggered landslides and floods.
In the last few days, a red warning has been issued for 12 districts across the state with continuous rains for urban floods.
Assam Chief Minister says that the situation is not good
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) released a report stating that urban floods in three districts have affected a total of 10.150 people.
Five deaths occurred in a landslide in Kamup Metro district, which occurred due to monsoon rains.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma told the media on Friday that the situation in the state is not good.
Hey said that rescue teams have been deployed.
Sarma said in a statement, “We have been reviewing the adjacent situation for the last three days,” a statement stated in a statement that rice supply was sent as food aid.
Security advisors released for parts of Assam
Schools and colleges have been closed in some affected areas.
Therefore, ASDMA has issued advice that residents have been asked to stay indoors.
The annual monsoon season in India begins in June and lasts till September.
This provides relief from scorching summer, however, it causes damage to life and property.
The score of death has been reported in the past during the rainy season in the world’s most populous country.
