This is my long -term goal for Bitcoin

The professional trader and market analyst Willy Woo made a overwhelming statement about its long -term price objective for Bitcoin (BTC). But, unlike those who focus on nominal figures in dollars, Woo looked at a much more ambitious horizon: the world’s gross internal product (GDP) divided by the 21 million bitcoin that will exist as maximum.

Woo’s projection has deep implications on the role that Bitcoin could occupy in the global monetary system.

«My long -term objective for the price of BTC is not in dollars, since this currency is still devalued. My goal is the World GDP divided by 21 million. With a +/- 50%margin. This will carry, more or less, a couple of decades », wrote Woo.

What anticipates woo is A true revolution in the way in which economic value is conceived. Instead of thinking about Bitcoin as an asset that is measured in dollars, he proposes to imagine a world in which the dollar is no longer the reference rod. That is, a scenario in which Bitcoin himself works as a global account unit.

From a bitcoiner point of view, this makes sense. As the dollar and other Fíat currencies lose purchasing power due to inflation and uncontrolled monetary emission, Bitcoin – with its limited offer and its decentralized nature – is emerging as a stronger alternative to represent value precisely. Woo simply leads this logic to the extreme: if Bitcoin is really consolidated as the reserve of universal value, then it could absorb a significant fraction of the total value of the world economy.

Although Woo does not care about dollars (or so he says), it is interesting to ask How much would that be in current figures? The Global GDP currently is currently 105 billion dollars. Divide that figure by 21 million (the total of Bitcoin that will exist) shows a value greater than the 5 million dollars per BTC. Woo clarifies that it is a flexible estimate, with a 50% margin up or down, but even at the lower extreme, its projection points to about 2.5 million dollars per Bitcoin.

Beyond the number itself, The relevant is the background idea: Bitcoin as a monetary basis of a new global economic system. It is a 20 -year vision, according to Woo, and not exempt from challenges. For that to happen, structural changes should occur in the way in which governments, companies and people store and transfer value.
