After consumer retention has recently subsided, this trend continues. The index of the HDE consumption barometer rose as much in June as last in the summer of 2024. The mood is still behind the previous year’s level.
The total index has risen from 96.10 to 97.35. The economic expectation (from 79.75 to 83.45) and the income expectation (from 98.67 to 102.80) have improved particularly strongly. On the other hand, the raffle has decreased (from 110.16 to 106.64). There was only slight improvements in interest expectation (from 113.23 to 113.28), the price expectation (from 94.82 to 96.76) and the inclination (from 86.21 to 87.79).
The HDE consumption barometer, which will be released on the first Monday of a month, is based on a monthly survey of below 1,600 people to acquire tendency, tendency to save, financial situation and other consumer-relevant factors. It is not the current consumer behavior, but the expected mood in the next three months.
