French Lawmakers Back Promoting Dreyfus 130 Years After Scandal


It’s a Symbolic Step in An Act of Reparation for One of the Most Notorious Acts of Antisemism in French History. The french parliament has backed a bill that would promote alfred dreyfus, a Jewish french army captain wrongly convict of Treason in 1894, to the Rank of Brigadier General. The 36 Year Old was sentenced to life prison, and publicly stripped of his rank, before being officially pardoned, and exonerate in 1906. Siobhan Silke Explains.
