According to the native company Aylo, Pornhub, Redtube and Eupourn were suspended in France on Wednesday.
A Pornhub spokesperson said on Tuesday that instead of porn, the company would only display a statement on France’s new rules that would request porn sites to verify whether their users are 18 or older.
Elio’s sites like other porn sites available in France, by June 7, by 2025, are to apply a rigid new age verification standard.
It is part of a French government to mold minors from unfair materials.
French Deputy Minister Clara Chappaz defended the government’s move late on Tuesday night for digital technology.
France’s Europe 1 TV said, “We are not tarnishing adults, who want to consume this material, but we should not do so at the cost of safety of our children.”
The sites are not protecting children, so now it is the responsibility of the government, he said.
What is the issue of Aylo with Age-Elaples Act?
Currently, users of clear sites can click on the AA box, announcing that they are over 18, but their age is not really verified.
France’s new standard requires clear websites To verify the user’s age using a credit card or ID document issued by the government.
And for the protection of users’ identification, the standard requires porn sites to use on the outer site for this agage verification.
Using a theory known as double oblivion, porn sites will confirm tons that the person is of legal age and will not know their identity. The external service provider will know the identity of the user, but does not cause age tests or users’ visits.
Elio has said that it is in favor of age verification, but says it should be done on the equipment used instead of going to the website.
The porn industry giant has asked the French government’s measure to measure potential secrecy and ineffective.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Deputy Minister Chappaz stated that Manak guaranteed privacy, with his dual oblivion.
“It is unacceptable to lie when you don’t want to respect the law,” he posted. “If Aylo will leave France instead of implementing our law, they are free to do so.”
