Covid-19 cases in India: The number of active cases of Corona Virus (Kovid-19) in India has increased to more than 4,800. In this, Kerala remains the most affected state. According to the Health Ministry data, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal and Delhi are among the most affected states after Kerala. The number of active patients has increased to 4,866 after 564 new cases in the last 24 hours in the country. During this time, seven patients are reported to have died due to infection. Since January this year, 51 people have been reported dead from Kovid-19 in the country so far.
According to the Health Ministry data, two patients have died in Karnataka and Delhi in the last 24 hours due to infection of Corona virus. While three patients are reported dead in Maharashtra. One of the dead is also a five -month -old child, who had a respiratory problem. The number of active patients in the country on 22 May was 257 and by May 31, the number increased to 3,395. After this, the number of active patients increased to 4,866.
During 24 hours, Kerala had the highest number of 114 cases. This is followed by Karnataka 112 and West Bengal at number two with 106 cases. Currently there are 1,487 active active patients in Kerala, the highest in the country. This is followed by 526 active active patients in Maharashtra, 508 in Gujarat and 562 in Delhi.
Today there will be mock-drill
In view of the increasing cases of Corona virus across the country, the Union Health Ministry has decided to get a mock drill at the hospital level today i.e. on June 5. Also, instructions have been given to increase monitoring from the states. The decision has been taken after a technical review meetings chaired by Director General of Health Services Sunita Sharma earlier this week in view of the recent huge increase in Kovid-19 cases in the country.
In the instructions, states have been asked to ensure the availability of oxygen, isolation beds, ventilaters and essential medicines. Earlier, a mock drill, which assessed oxygen supply system like PSA plant, LMO tank, MGPS lines, was held on 2 June.
Do we need to be afraid?
Official sources had said on 31 May that the situation of Kovid-19 in India is being closely monitored. The ministry emphasized that the severity of the infection is low. Most patients are undergoing treatment at home at home. There is nothing to worry about.
Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research, said that the genome sequencing of samples of virus in West and South India has shown that the form of the virus which has increased due to the current is not serious. This is the new variant of Omikron of the virus.
He said that the four new forms of the virus have been detected are LF.7, XFG, JN.1 and NB.1.8.1. All of them originated from the Omikron variants. The virus has more cases of infection from LF.7, XFG, JN.1 variants. Dr. Bahl said, “We are closely monitoring the situation. At this time we should be cautious along with monitoring. However, there is nothing to worry about.”
