US President Donald Trump has once again taken tough steps regarding America’s security. He has completely banned the entry of citizens of 12 countries into America. Along with this, strict conditions have been implemented by the US administration for 7 other countries. Trump has taken this decision citing national security and protecting the interests of American citizens.
Ban on Muslim population dominated countries!
Trump has signed an official announcement on Wednesday night, according to which 12 countries have been banned. The interesting thing is that all 12 countries are of Muslim -dominated population. Their names are – Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Irritriya, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen. Along with this, strict sanctions will also be imposed on citizens of 7 countries – Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leon, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.
America’s security is not compromised
Donald Trump has said – ‘I should work to protect the national security of America and its citizens’ interests. It is our priority to control the entry of citizens of the countries which take hostile stand towards America. He said that the state department, homeland security and intelligence agencies were ordered to prepare a report on 20 January to assess this which countries that can become a threat to American security.
Trump has done this in 2017 too
When Trump took power in the year 2017, a similar order was issued in the month of January. At that time, the US had banned the US citizens of seven Muslim countries – Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen. There was a lot of controversy about his decision and many changes were also made in it. In 2018, the US Supreme Court approved the revised order, after which some countries remained partial and full ban on some.
‘Don’t call it a Muslim ban’
Although the Trump administration has denied this ban being called a Muslim ban, it is being said that this decision is based on religious discrimination. Trump had openly spoken about the ban on the entry of Muslims in America during his 2016 presidential election campaign and he is once again confirming his point.
