Washington. The all -party Indian parliamentary delegation in the US led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ is a “brilliantly chosen name”. He explained its importance as part of India’s global efforts to highlight India’s clear and united stance to fight Pakistan -backed terrorism after the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack.
Asked why India chose the name ‘Operation Sindoor’ for anti-terrorism action, the Congress MP said, “Operation vermilion, in fact, I felt that it is a great name. Sindoor, if some Americans do not know about it, then this vermilion makes married women in their demand in Hindu tradition. Women put it up, so we were very conscious of these cruel terrorists who shot the husband in front of their wives and children. The terrorists left the women and when a wife shouted, ‘kill me too’, then she was told, no, ‘You go back and tell them what we have done.’ For this reason, women survived this heinous, gruesome act. “
